Contribute a guide to The Maryland Home Report — real specifics, real bylines.
The Maryland Home Report accepts contributed guides from Maryland homeowners, renters, contractors and property managers. We publish guides with real specifics — not marketing pages, and not generic advice that could apply to any state.
What we publish
- How-to guides with a sequence a reader can follow (checklists, timelines, step-by-step)
- Local explainers: pricing structures, licensing, insurance, what Maryland law or climate changes about a common task
- Field notes from contractors: what actually goes wrong on jobs, written plainly, with the byline of a real person at a real Maryland company
What we don't publish
- Advertorials dressed as guides — if a piece promotes a business, it needs a disclosed byline and honest limits on the pitch
- Duplicate or near-duplicate submissions across sites — we run originality checks
- Anything without a real author name attached. No anonymous or fake-author submissions.
How to submit
- Pitch the desk first: a working title, the angle in two sentences, and your relevant experience.
- If we're a fit, we'll ask for the draft (800–1,500 words works best).
- Published pieces carry your real byline and bio, one or two contextual links where genuinely useful, and your disclosure of any business relationship.
